Sorry that I haven’t been able to post! So when I came out of the OR they put me in a GIANT plaster splint. My first appointment back with the orthopedic was for them to give me a new splint. This splint literally feels as if it has no protection on it whatsoever. Two ace bandages and a fiberglass backing. This is done so that the stitches at the incision site were allowed to heal. It’s going to swell ALOT. Your toes may turn different colors. Dont panic, if this happens it is ok, the purpose of the ace bandages is that they can expand to make room for the swelling. After about ten minutes of elevation above the heart, the swelling will go down and the color will return.
